Blended learning combines face-to-face classroom time and online activities. Students may attend class once a week instead of three times a week. Most of the classroom activities are online. Many in the education field believe this creates the best of both worlds. For those pursuing adult education, this helps them to continue to work and take care of their responsibilities more efficiently. For those who are nervous about online learning, the real-time with the teacher will help them make the transition.

Types of Blended Learning

Blended learning can take on many components. It can include class time, online learning and mobile learning via smart phones. Depending on the education program, all or just two of these methods can be combined. The course usually starts with a well structured classroom presentation, and then the instructor moves towards more online, distance learning.
